IZZY FAITH V
Izzy Faith V is a multidisciplinary artist specialising in traditional and digital painting and animation. Her career began in the film industry, where she worked in props and set decoration on films including Thor: Ragnarok, Aquaman, and Pirates of the Caribbean. In 2021, V shifted her focus entirely to visual arts, furthering her expertise with a diploma in 2D and 3D animation. Her work has been exhibited in galleries both in Australia and internationally, and she recently celebrated a near-sold-out debut solo show, Demonised, at Honey Bones Gallery.
Embracing the label of 'pop surrealist', V's practice is shaped by her experiences living in cities including Tokyo, Berlin, Beijing, and Mexico City. Merging mythologies, internet culture, golden-era anime, rave and fetish scenes to create 'digital esoterica’, works that feature hedonistic characters inhabiting ‘protopian' virtual realms. Often filled with retro-futuristic imagery, her works oscillate between a commentary on today's tech-induced nihilism and nostalgia for the techno-optimism of the early 2000s
